Absolutely yes! There are so many choices for your getting ready space, from designated rooms to private suites, that there is no reason you have to travel anywhere else!
There are many reasons we LOVE a first look and recommend them, but the biggest one is that we believe YOU should be able to enjoy your own cocktail hour! First looks allow us to complete the formal photos before your party starts - which means when it does start, you can actually go enjoy it!
The closest major airport to Amelia Island is the Jacksonville International Airport (JAX), located approximately 30 miles southwest of the island. Alternatively, the Fernandina Beach Municipal Airport offers corporate and private airplanes and jets if flying directly into the island is something you're looking for.
To be legally married on Amelia Island, you will need a marriage license issued by the Nassau County Clerk of Courts. The process takes about 30 minutes, and once filed, the license is issued immediately. A Florida marriage license is valid for 60 days from date of validity. The marriage license must be returned to the clerk’s office for recording within 10 days after the marriage is performed.
Unlike most of Florida, Amelia Island does have somewhat distinct seasons (though not as extreme as up north!) but all its seasons are lovely! March - June is warm but milder than the July - September heat. October and November bring milder fall weather again, and December through February bring typically cooler temps, as well as early sunsets.
Yes, but with some restrictions. Pets and dogs up to 30 lb are welcome in ground floor rooms at the Ritz Carlton Amelia Island. We personally love it when couples opt to include their pets in their wedding day or engagement photos, so if you do bring your pet, we would love for you to include them in your wedding photos!
Yes, as a team with a commercially licensed drone pilot, we are able to offer drone photography at the Ritz Carlton Amelia Island. Please note, this needs to be planned in advance, as the venue's location close to the airport requires that we file a flight plan. Drone photography is also subject to weather, as they are unsafe to fly in severe wind and/or rain.
